The *celebration* started early in the week by serving favorite meals: 1)BBQ ribs, steamed cabbage, corn on cob 2)Boiled Shrimp, Spinach Salad (mangoes&mushrooms) 3)Pizza Night 4)Movie Night (popcorn&Batman) 5)Favorite B'fast: French Toast & Bacon.

Your family seems like so muuch fun to cook for!!! When your husband isn't fond of food...
ReplyDeleteSounds like the title of a funny book :o)
I did make a delicious lasagne and garlic bread. No garlic on hubby's bread.
He likes clothes and golf....so we can usually help here out there :o)
Marinated steak salad sounds yummy.
The Frugal Gormet made one with roast beef, oil and vinegar, and eggs. Is yours anything like that?
Donna
Hi Donna
ReplyDeleteMy *salad* recipe actually calls for grilled steak. I've made this several times, using either NY Strips or T-Bones. I imagine that using a nice cut of roast beef would work just fine.
There are no eggs in my recipe. Just olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, english peas, prepared mustard, and some herbs.
Ken has requested Low Country Boil for his July birthday dinner. He may change his mind though, so I will wait a bit before grocery shopping.
