Carolina Wren
This bird is one of my favorites because s/he sings so loudly and so lovely. S/he perches on the railing of my desk and his whole body warbles as the song travels out of his mouth. I like the different shades of the brown and white markings on this bird.
Do you have a favorite bird in your backyard?

I love the cardinal. So bright and pretty to look at and so loud and social!
ReplyDeleteI spotted a very interesting hawk in our yard this year. It is called a Northern Harrier.
It's so exciting to discover a new bird!
I've been a lurker for a while but have finally decided to comment since you asked a question and it's always nice when people actually leave an answer.
ReplyDeleteWe see cardinals and bluejays in our side yard each morning. They may not be extraordinary to some people but I find them beautiful and inspiring.
I bought a hummingbird feeder the other day and need to get it up and filled with nectar. The children always enjoy hummingbirds, another amazing kind of bird!
Dana, we lived in the Gwinnett area of Atlanta for years before moving to Alabama. You are the epitome of a gracious, elegant, fine Southern lady and I enjoy your lovely blog. :)
During this past week we've been spotting beautiful woodpeckers, too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite backyard bird memory was when we saw a Goldfinch chasing an Indigo Bunting (or was it the other way around). Cindy had a whole row of sunflowers that she had grown which the Goldfinch especially appreciated. I enjoy getting a peek into the lives of you and your family. Greetings from your misplaced Savannah brother. Tim
