Fashion Find Friday

Purples & Gray

Mulberry

Aubergine

Grape

Charcoal

Fall is in the air and despite the tumbling prices on Wall Street, I'm looking forward to incorporating the latest fashion splash into my closet.

Purple has never been one of my favorite colors....but it is clearly taken the front seat in fashion. From overcoats to accessories, it's everywhere.

Here's a link to a scarf I wrote about last year. See the purple leaf?

Furthermore, there's a grape-colored wool skirt/jacket in the deep recesses of my closet. I think I bought it in 1993? Can you say packrat?

Time to revive that *old* outfit!

How are you updating your wardrobe for Fall?

Just tried on that grape skirt. Looks like I'm going to have to step up my exercise, if it's going to fit well :)

  1. Purple is one of my favorite colors, though I hardly ever tell anyone that. It's okay for very young girls, like three years old, but in an adult it supposedly means that they're not in touch with reality.

In light of my previous comment, maybe I should reconsider some things in my life.

  2. Well, Kelly, there are lots of shades and hues, tones and highlights -- so, I think I can find some combinations I like.

    Aubergine sounds rather elegant.

And what's the difference between mulberry and blackberry?

Just not quite ready to join the ladies of the Red Hat Club :)

Hope you get your camera working again soon. I'd love to see some Fall foliage from your neck of the woods.

  3. I think mulberry is redder and blackberry is bluer.

I love the word "aubergine" though I'm not sure exactly what hue it is.

Plums and eggplants are my faves in winter and in summer it's periwinkle, which some people consider a blue, but I say it's purple.

  4. Totally off-topic: I have some economics question of a very fundamental sort that I wonder if you'd consider answering if you've got the time and inclination.

I can't figure out how we got from capital=cattle to capital=money and especially how we got from there to capital=money=credit.

    Are you game?

  5. Hey, I finally posted a money question for you at my blog.
    :-)

Sorry it took so long, and after all this time, it's probably more of a history question than an economics one!
